Minority Clerkship Program

Through the Minority Clerkship Program, first-year law students at Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison have an opportunity to develop their legal skills and gain real-world experience during summer clerkships in a variety of settings. The program, sponsored by the State Bar of Wisconsin, promotes diversity in the legal profession. Froedtert Health’s legal department has hosted a summer clerk since 2005, and is proud to play a role in promoting diversity at Froedtert and the region.

Minority Internship Program

Through the Minority Internship Program, students enrolled at accredited colleges and universities spend 10 intensive weeks at Froedtert Health learning about hospital operations and career development under the guidance of a staff mentor. The program exposes interns to the day-to-day operations of a hospital as well as the variety of career opportunities available to health care graduates.

UWM College of Health Sciences Froedtert Scholars

Since 2004, Froedtert Hospital has funded a scholarship program for underrepresented students at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, College of Health Sciences.

Reach Program

Froedtert Health’s Reach Program is designed to help young adults in the urban community pursue careers in health care. In partnership with workforce intermediaries and community based agencies, Froedtert provides a six-month, paid experience for young adults who are looking to gain experience in the health care field to compete in the job market.

The participants work at Froedtert about 20 hours a week, for six months. In addition to working with a supervisor, participants are also assigned a mentor. Mentors are not directly involved in the participants day-to-day work, but offer their time, advice and energy to enhance the learning experience of the students.

MPS Faculty Institute

Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin host a Faculty Institute for Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) teachers that provides in-depth shadowing experiences for educators in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Biomedical Sciences.

Carmen High School Intership
