Annual Giving
Every year, new and current donors make philanthropic gifts to Froedtert Hospital Foundation through our annual giving program. Our annual solicitations not only ask you help Froedtert with a charitable donation, they tell a story - a story of a patient whose life was changed because of Froedtert and because of the support of our donors. Here's our most recent story ...
Each year during our annual Staff Giving Campaign, Froedtert staff dig deep into their own pockets – many to support their own departments, others to help patients and families throughout the hospital.
They know all about the critical importance of quality care, and they live it every day! To our staff, it’s not just a job, it’s a life. And because they feel so strongly about providing the best, they step forward with their own generosity.
And their generosity has allowed us to offer something new…
Why such generosity? Why now? It starts with relationships that are built here between patients, and between patients and their caregivers. Here’s one such story…
The day that Greg Phelps met Jeff and Tiffany Fisher, you could say that Greg wasn’t at his best. Greg, an avid runner, was running through Pewaukee when he was struck by a car.
The Fishers had been following the erratic driver for miles, with Tiffany calling the police. They watched in horror as the driver veered off the side of the road and struck Greg from behind. Critically injured, the Fishers ran to his side and comforted Greg until help arrived.
When Greg was injured he was brought to Froedtert Hospital’s Level One Trauma Center. It was tough going but Greg believes that it was the extraordinary care by his topnotch team that got him through. Greg spent a month in Froedtert’s Brain Injury Center and with expert care and compassion; he fought his way to recovery.
The accident changed their lives. What began with a tragedy ended in a new friendship. Jeff and Tiffany wanted to help Greg and his wife Marlene with their medical costs. A fundraising event came to mind. Greg declined help for himself but he decided the event proceeds should help other patients at Froedtert Hospital.
Greg’s strong relationship with his rehab team has been important to his recovery. He was proud that members of his Froedtert team attended the fundraiser and were there to celebrate when he returned to see the results of the fundraiser, the purchase of iPads for other rehab patients.
He was impressed that Froedtert staff would reach out to him, on their own time to support him.
This is just another in a long list of examples of how Froedtert staff go above and beyond to support our patients. Not only does our staff give so much of themselves to our patients, they also support the Hospital with financial contributions.
Philanthropy means so much to Froedtert and its ability to provide excellent healthcare. Gifts come from many sources, in all sizes. Real impact is seen when many of us step forward and do what we can. Today, I hope you will decide to send in your support. And now, for the first time, its impact will double!
