2008-2009 Pharmacy Residency Programs
The Froedtert Hospital Pharmacy Residency Programs are the first step in your path to a rewarding future. The 12-month PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Program offers the pharmacy resident comprehensive training in a variety of clinical areas. The 12-month PGY2 Practice Management Program builds upon the PGY1 program to prepare residents to assume high-level managerial, supervisory and leadership responsibilities. Both programs offer required and elective rotations, with activities tailored to meet the needs and interests of the resident.

ASHP Best Practices AwardIn December 2007, the Froedtert Hospital Pharmacy Department was honored by the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) at its Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition. ASHP selected Froedtert pharmacists to receive the ninth annual ASHP Best Practices Award in Health-System Pharmacy for the program titled “Improving Patient Safety through Implementation of a Pharmacy-Conducted Admission Medication History and Multidisciplinary Discharge Medication Reconciliation Process.” This award program is a national competition that recognizes innovation and outstanding leadership in health-system pharmacy. Froedtert pharmacists were one of six recipients selected for the award in 2007 from among 60 applicants.

- Register for the ASHP matching program handled by National Matching Services Inc. Residency program rankings must be submitted by March 7, 2008.

- Current curriculum vitae (CV) or resume
- Examples of three projects you have completed (case and topic presentation, new drug evaluation, newsletter article, etc.)
- Pharmacy school transcript (hard copy acceptable)
- Two or three letters of recommendation (electronic or hard copy acceptable)
Upon receipt and review of all application materials, we will extend invitations for interviews. An onsite interview is required and must be completed by February 29, 2008. Unfortunately, it is not possible to interview all applicants.
