PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Practice Administration Program

Requirements and Expectations

The following are some of the requirements and expectations of participants in the PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Practice Administration Program at Froedtert Hospital:

  1. Professional Organization Membership

    • American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)
    • Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW)

  2. Conferences

    • ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting
    • Great Lakes Pharmacy Resident Conference (GLPRC)
    • Milwaukee Residency Conferences (six/year)
    • PSW Annual Meeting (recommended)
    • PSW Educational Conference (recommended)
    • ASHP Leadership Conference (recommended)

  3. Formal Presentations

    • ASHP Resident Poster Presentation at ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting
    • UHC Resident Poster Presentation
    • GLPRC PowerPoint Presentation
    • PSW Poster Presentation (recommended)

  4. Pharmacy Staffing

    • Approximately nine weeks throughout the year (Monday - Friday, 10-hour shifts in central or decentral areas)
    • Approximately six weekends throughout the year (Saturday - Sunday, 10-hour shifts in central or decentral areas)

  5. Departmental Meetings

    • Weekly manager meetings
    • Twice weekly clinical conferences
    • Weekly resident discussions
    • Monthly staff meetings

  6. Licensure

    • Licensed as a pharmacist in the state of Wisconsin

  7. Other

    • Minimum eight hours/day (Monday - Friday)
    • Assist and support department in additional ways as needed
    • Complete assignments and evaluations on a timely basis
    • Coordinate Pharmacy Week activities within the hospital
