PGY1 Residency Project
Technician Collected Medication Histories in the Emergency Department
Through this pilot study, we will be investigating the efficiency and accuracy of technicians interviewing patients and recording their prior to admission medications. The purpose is to increase the frequency of medication histories completed before admission orders are entered and provide an expanded technician role, increasing technician satisfaction and allowing pharmacists spend more time performing clinical tasks.

Why did you choose to pursue a residency?
I chose to pursue a residency so I would be able assume responsibility of a practicing pharmacist in a learning environment and benefit from the extensive clinical exposure a residency has to offer.

What attracted you to Froedtert’s pharmacy residency program?
In searching for a residency, I focused on academic medical centers with successful residency training programs. The progressive pharmacy practice and advantageous staffing model at Froedtert were definite draws to this program. Upon interviewing with Froedtert I was extremely impressed with the strength of preceptors, resident satisfaction, and overall pharmacy team engagement. To me, residency was really a question of fit. I am so excited that I can continue to shape my pharmacy identity as part of the Froedtert family.
