PGY1 Residency Project
Impact of integrated pharmacy services in people living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
The goal of the project is to evaluate the difference in HAART adherence, and its impact in the CD4 count and viral load, between patients enrolled with Integrated Pharmacy Services (IPS) at Froedtert Hospital and patients enrolled with Infectious Diseases clinic and using other community pharmacies. In addition, we will evaluate the strategy for comorbid condition surveillance in people living with HIV.

Why did you choose to pursue a residency?
Having completed pharmacy training in India, I wanted an opportunity to better my understanding and experience of pharmacy in the USA. I felt pursuing a residency would help me achieve this, as well as provide the tools to improve and develop clinical skills needed to establish a successful career.

What attracted you to Froedtert’s pharmacy residency program?
After having worked as a pharmacist for few years in the USA, I was looking for a residency program which meets my clinical needs and provides good work-life balance. The non traditional residency program at Froedtert was the best fit for me. I wanted a sound clinical program led by preceptors.
