PGY1 Residency Project
Pharmacist Impact on Acute Ischemic Stroke Care in the Emergency Department
This project focuses on creating a pharmacist role on the Froedtert Acute Stroke Team (FAST), as well as a retrospective analysis of the impact that pharmacists have on the accuracy of alteplase dosing, minimizing door to alteplase time, and assisting in recognition of contraindications to alteplase therapy.

Why did you choose to pursue a residency?
I decided to pursue a residency in order to broaden my clinical knowledge and gain experience as a clinical pharmacist. Completing a residency shows dedication to the profession and a commitment to providing great patient care. Being a residency-trained pharmacist also provides exposure to career opportunities that may not necessarily be present without this training.

What attracted you to Froedtert’s pharmacy residency program?
I was attracted to Froedtert’s residency program for the diverse rotation options, the opportunity to precept students, and the ability to earn a teaching certificate through Concordia University College of Pharmacy. The progressive nature of Froedtert Hospital would allow me to learn and grow as a clinical pharmacist at the forefront of pharmacy practice.

What's your favorite thing to do in Milwaukee?
I absolutely love the Brewers and try to go to as many games as possible. The summer festivals and Bradford Beach are one of a kind!
