PGY1 Residency Project
Evaluation of medication use and integration of pharmacy services in the cardiac catheterization lab
My project involves defining our current medication use processes in the cath lab, determining what a pharmacist’s unique set of skills could offer and developing a role for the pharmacy department in the cardiac cath lab.

Why did you choose to pursue a residency?
A PGY-1 residency is a great way for me to gain experience in a wide variety of practice settings; it provides opportunities that expand my knowledge base and build a solid foundation for my future career. I wanted a challenging experience that would motivate me and push me to discover new areas of interest and unlock my potential as a new pharmacist.

What attracted you to Froedtert’s pharmacy residency program?
As a level 1 trauma center, Froedtert Hospital sees a unique population of patients and has a challenging and exciting emergency medicine opportunity. That, coupled with the excellent critical care opportunities provided here in an academic setting made Froedtert Hospital the ideal choice for my interests.

Professional interests
At this time, emergency medicine, critical care and infectious disease are among my top interests. Overall I am very interested in further advancing the role of the pharmacist in the critical care and emergency settings.

Hobbies
Drumming, recording music, fly fishing, camping, hiking, canoeing & rafting, building/repairing computers, video games

What's your favorite thing to do in Milwaukee?
Taking a day to spend downtown – walking/biking alongside Lake Michigan, fishing in local streams, visiting museums, trying new restaurants and watching the Brewers at Miller Park!
