Dementia Specialist Training: Best Practices for Direct Care Staff
Fridays: May 2 & May 16; 8:00am - 4:00pm
Location: Community Education Center

This 15-hour program is presented by the Alzheimer’s Association, Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter for direct care staff, including nurses, CNAs, social workers, therapists and support staff. This highly interactive program teaches the skills necessary for interacting with people who have dementia. The training is fun, interesting and innovative. Role playing, case studies and experiential exercises are used throughout. Topics include Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease and Aging Issues, Effective Communication, Behavior, and Adding Meaning to Daily Life.
Fee: $100 for both days includes all materials, breakfast and lunch.
