Which Prostate Treatment is Right for You?The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Prostate Cancer Program offers all currently available treatment options. Our experts work with patients to design an individual treatment plan.
“Prostate cancer management is more than doing a procedure on a patient. It’s doing the right thing at the right time for the right person,” said William See, MD, Medical College of Wisconsin urologist and chairman of Urology.
At Froedtert & the Medical College, that means choosing the treatment best suited to each patient. Options include external beam radiation, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), TomoTherapy Hi-Art® System and standard and high dose rate brachytherapy. Surgical alternatives include robotic, as well as many types of open and laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, and cryosurgical ablation. Watchful waiting and medical management are options as well.
“We encompass the entire spectrum of cancer care, beginning with counseling regarding risks and ending with experimental therapies for advanced disease, and everything in between” Dr. See said.
