Froedtert & Community Health Nationally Recognized for Cardiac Care Froedtert Hospital and Community Memorial Hospital recently received national recognition as "UnitedHealth Premium Cardiac Specialty Centers."
UnitedHealthcare's "specialty center" designation identifies hospitals nationwide that are leaders in providing cardiac care. The hospitals must meet extensive, evidence-based quality criteria.
Guidelines are set by a coalition of more than 150 public and private organizations that provide healthcare benefits, including the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Thoracic Surgeons, the North American Society for Pacing and Electrophysiology and The Leapfrog Group.
Through this specialty center program, patients enrolled with UnitedHealthcare receive detailed information about leading cardiac facilities, so they can make informed decisions.
"All hospitals are not the same," says Lewis Sandy,MD, chief medical officer for UnitedHealthcare. "Where you go makes a difference in the quality of care you receive. Patients who require cardiac care need to know they are getting the best treatment."
