Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin in the Top 100 for Cardiovascular Care
Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin have been named a 2007 Thomson 100 Top Hospitals award winner for cardiovascular care.
The national study, titled “Cardiovascular Benchmarks for Success,” is in its ninth year and was administered by Thomson Healthcare. It scored nearly 1,000 hospitals in eight key performance areas related to the following treatment areas: acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), congestive heart failure, coronary artery bypass graft and percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty).
“As an academic medical center, we pride ourselves in providing the highest quality specialty heart care for our patients,” said Michael Cinquegrani, MD, Medical College of Wisconsin interventional cardiologist and interim chief of cardiovascular medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. “This award validates that we are not only saving lives and improving outcomes, we are also shortening hospital stays and reducing costs.”
Froedtert & the Medical College were one of just two Wisconsin medical centers to win in the category of “Teaching Hospitals with Cardiovascular Residency Programs.”
