Breast Care Center Among Nation's Best


The Breast Care Center at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin has been accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). Administered by the American College of Surgeons, the NAPBC is a consortium of national organizations dedicated to improving quality of care and monitoring outcomes of breast cancer patients.

The Breast Care Center meets all NAPBC patient care standards, which reflect competence in leadership, clinical management, research, community outreach, professional education and quality improvement. Among the standards:
  • A multidisciplinary team approach
  • Patient access to information, education and support
  • Data collection on quality indicators for subspecialties involved in diagnosis and treatment
  • Ongoing monitoring and improvement of care
  • Information about clinical trials and new treatment options

“NAPBC accreditation confirms our dedication to providing the highest level of care to our patients,” said Alonzo Walker, MD, Medical College of Wisconsin breast surgeon and director of the Breast Cancer Program.
