Important National Distinction for Radiation Oncology

Following an intensive survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR), Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Radiation Oncology was accredited for its fourth consecutive three-year term.

Important for Cancer Patients
ACR accreditation is a distinction claimed by only 10 percent of radiation oncology practices in the country. During the ACR review, experts review a facility’s radiation oncology staff to be sure they are qualified to administer safe, high quality radiation therapy treatments. Equipment is also evaluated to ensure it meets national quality and safety guidelines.

A Mark of Merit
Receiving ACR accreditation means a radiation oncology facility has met the challenge of a rigorous independent review and meets nationally accepted standards of care. “Consistently receiving this important accreditation confirms the high standard of care we provide,” said J. Frank Wilson, MD, FACR, Medical College of Wisconsin radiation oncologist and director of the Adult Cancer Clinical Service Line.
