The Southeastern Regional Trauma Advisory Council (SERTAC) is sponsoring the "Cutting Edge in Trauma" conference. The conference will take place on Sept. 24, 2010, at the Country Springs Conference Center in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
We are fortunate to have access to a wide array of qualified clinicians in our local community, and as a result, we are able to offer presentations that will meet the needs of multiple medical personnel, including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and EMTs.
The theme of the conference is the “Cutting Edge in Trauma”. You do not need to be a member of SERTAC to attend. The Keynote Speaker is Lieutenant General (Dr.) Charles Green, Surgeon General of the United States Air Force. Gen. Green will be speaking about "Trusted Care Anywhere — How the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) is Creating Trusted Care Through Teamwork, Innovation and Passion.” The presentation will highlight the AFMS response in Afghanistan, Iraq, Indonesia, Haiti and Chile, along with an overview of AFMS’ role in safely moving over 70,000 casualties in the war on terror. It will also address health reform and homeland security. Other topics include: Eye Emergencies, Critical Stress Debriefing, Child Abuse Symptoms and Signs, Tactical EMS, Murder/Suicide, PTSD in First Responders, Alcohol Related Injuries, Toxicology Street Drugs, Blast Injuries, Milwaukee ME - Gun Shot Wounds, Landing Zone Safety, Spinal Cord Injuries, WMD and Terrorism, SIMS man, and others.
