Celebrating Hope and Spirit
Incredible things do happen...
Hope & Spirit Honoree: Ryan MilliganRyan Milligan sustained multiple injuries in a horrific motorcycle crash in 2005. He had hematomas, multiple rib fractures, pulmonary contusions and facial abrasions. The prognosis was uncertain.
“Ryan’s a fighter and will recover well,” his father told SICU Nurse Tifuh Amba, who nominated him for the Hope & Spirit Award.
After weeks in the SICU, the Walworth resident was transferred for rehabilitation. Even though he and the team worked hard, most of his caregivers believed some of the effects of traumatic brain injury would remain.
But things changed. He bounced back much to the amazement of many. He could talk, walk and take his own bath. Today he is back to normal carrying out his duties as a policeman in Delavan.
