Support groups at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin are designed to provide education and emotional support for patients and their families. The following is a listing of support groups held at or affiliated with Froedtert. No registration is required for support groups. Alpha Pack (Alpha - 1)The support group meets to create awareness for Alpha-1 Antitypsin Deficiency, which can cause hereditary emphysema in young adults and liver disease in children. Meetings are open to family, friends and the medical community.

A.W.A.K.E. of Greater Milwaukee
This is a chapter of the American Sleep Apnea Assocaiton A.W.A.K.E. group. This group's mission is to improve the quality of life for those affected by sleep apnea. Affected individuals, their families and those interested in learning more are invited. Sleep Apnea Syndrome is recurrent throat obstructions during sleep that affect your health and well-being.

Early Bird ClubThe Early Bird Club is designed specifically for individuals diagnosed with early stage memory loss. This club is the first of its kind in Wisconsin. The club focuses on maintaining and enhancing memory and brain function. Individuals as young as 40 will benefit.

The Southeastern Wisconsin Support Group of the Scleroderma Foundation meets monthly. The meetings are free and are open to anyone. The meetings are held at Community Memorial Hospital Rooms A and B in Menomonee Falls. Enter at the back of the hospital where signs will be posted for directions.

Wisconsin Donors Network — Threads of CompassionThis volunteer group knits and crochets comfort shawls for the Wisconsin Donor Network. Shawls are given to organ and tissue donor families at the time of their loved ones' gift of life. All knitters and crocheters are welcome, no matter your skill level.
