Cathy Buck Biographical Summary

Catherine J. Buck joined Froedtert Hospital in 1982 and was appointed president of the hospital in 2010. She was executive vice president and chief operating officer from 1999 until 2010. Since joining Froedtert Hospital, Cathy served in progressive leadership capacities, pioneering numerous patient safety and quality improvements. Her work in bringing Six Sigma and Lean to health care has been recognized nationally through numerous presentations, awards and business media.

Buck received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from DePaul University in 1976 and her master’s degree in nursing from Rush University in 1979. She worked as a staff nurse at Swedish Covenant Hospital, Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s and the University of Chicago, prior to joining Froedtert.
