(May 4, 2004) — Froedtert Hospital announced the first annual Hope & Spirit Awards for Community Leadership at the organization’s Annual Meeting held on April 26th. These awards are granted to health care leaders, either individuals or organizations, in recognition of outstanding contributions to the health and well-being of the community in a manner consistent with Hope and Spirit qualities of:
- Dedication to improving the health status of the community
- Resolve to address a serious healthcare challenge

The recipients of the Hope & Spirit Community leadership awards are as follows:
Paula Lucey
Paula Lucey, Director of Milwaukee County's Department of Health and Human Services was chosen for this award based on her unfailing, career-long commitment to the health and well-being of the medically underserved in Milwaukee County.
Lisbon Avenue Clinic
The qualities of the Hope and Spirit Community Leadership award were embodied in the very founding and mission of Westside Healthcare Association’s Lisbon Avenue Clinic. Accepting the award for Lisbon Avenue Clinic was Wayne Moyer, Executive Director and CEO of Westside Healthcare Association.
Family House Medical Assessment
and Referral Clinic
Family House Clinic has been chosen for this award based on its passionate, dedicated and steadfast focus on prevention and wellness education for its patients. Under Ms. Cordelia Taylor's leadership the staff at Family House Clinic has built an environment that establishes trust with patients and opens them to hearing and embracing health information that improves their health and the health of their families.
Flight For Life
This Hope & Spirit Community Leadership Award is being presented to Flight for Life, the region's emergency helicopter service based here at Froedtert. Jim Singer, Director of Flight for Life accepted the award.
