Pettit Center Announces Sponsorship

(May 12, 2004) — The Pettit National Ice Center, a U.S. Olympic Training Facility, is proud to announce a new sponsorship with Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin.

As part of its multi-year agreement, Froedtert & Medical College will receive signage on the exterior of the Pettit National Ice Center building.  Along with this sponsorship, the Froedtert & Medical College Sports Medicine Center will be the official sports medicine provider.

“We are looking forward to working with the Pettit National Ice Center,” stated Tom Engel, Director of the Froedtert & Medical College Sports Medicine Center.  “The Sports Medicine Center will provide expertise in injury prevention and performance improvement for the Pettit’s athletes and customers.”

Froedtert & Medical College is the newest of several sponsorships announced by the Pettit Center. Most recently the Facility announced a partnership with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Froedtert & Medical College is the first Pettit Center sponsor to be featured in such a manner.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to work with such a prestigious organization as Froedtert & Medical College,” said Pettit Center Executive Director Cindy Yomantas. “And we look forward to supporting their quality marketing and community service initiatives.”

“When it comes to providing value for our sponsors, one of the many benefits we can provide is an enviable location from which to showcase our key partners,” said Yomantas. “And with the new spirit of cooperation we’re enjoying from the United States Olympic Committee, these new opportunities are possible.” Yomantas added that the USOC was consulted and approved the placement of the Froedtert & Medical College sign on the exterior of the Facility.

Froedtert Hospital is a 424-bed academic medical center staffed by faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin.  It serves as an eastern Wisconsin referral center for advanced medical practice care in 37 specialties and subspecialties.  It is a major training and research facility with more than 1000 medical, nursing and health technical students in training and over 2000 active clinical trials each year.  Froedtert, a member of Froedtert & Community Health, operates the region’s only adult Level One Trauma Center.
