Petasnick Receives Hospital Association’s Distinguished Service Award
(September 29, 2005)—William D. Petasnick, president and CEO of Froedtert & Community Health, Inc. received the Wisconsin Hospital Association’s 2005 Distinguished Service Award. WHA Past Chair Charles Shabino, MD, presented the award to Petasnick during the WHA convention held recently in Wisconsin Dells.
Petasnick assumed the role of president and CEO at Froedtert in 1993. Since that time, Froedtert has grown from 241 to 434 staffed beds, and from a single hospital to an integrated health care delivery system. Under Petasnick’s leadership, Froedtert has achieved clinical and organizational excellence that has been recognized at both the state and national level.
Petasnick is a member of the American Hospital Association Board of Directors, is a past chair of the WHA, and he has played a key role on boards and committees associated with teaching hospitals.
In his letter supporting Petasnick’s nomination for the award, John Stollenwerk, president of Allen-Edmonds Shoe Corporation, said, “Throughout his career, Bill has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to quality patient care, outstanding service, and wise utilization of health resources. He leads with a partnership philosophy that both strengthened Froedtert and improved health care of patients throughout the region.
The Wisconsin Hospital Association represents nearly 130 community-based hospitals throughout the state.
