UnitedHealthcare Contract Renewed

MILWAUKEE (Sept. 29, 2006) — Froedtert & Community Health and UnitedHealthcare of Wisconsin have signed a contract, effective Nov. 1, 2006, enabling Froedtert Hospital and Community Memorial Hospital to remain in UnitedHealthcare’s provider network. Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin also signed an agreement with UnitedHealthcare’s transplant program, United Resource Networks, retroactive to Sept. 1, 2006. Both contracts are effective through Dec. 31, 2011. Contract terms were not disclosed.

“Throughout our contract discussions, patients were our foremost concern. We’re glad that people with UnitedHealthcare insurance will be able to continue to receive in-network healthcare services at Froedtert and Community Memorial,” said William D. Petasnick, president and chief executive officer of Froedtert & Community Health.

Froedtert & Community Health has a long-standing relationship with both UnitedHealthcare and URN. Froedtert & the Medical College currently have the only fully credentialed URN program in eastern Wisconsin for kidney, liver, bone marrow and other transplants.
