Mended Hearts Support Group Started
MILWAUKEE (Feb. 16, 2007) — Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin are starting a Mended Hearts support group, offering help, support and encouragement to patients and family members who have suffered from heart disease. The nonprofit support group will meet monthly at Froedtert Hospital starting this spring, and is open to patients of all local hospitals. Set times will be announced in March.
Medical College of Wisconsin physicians and Froedtert Hospital staff will offer educational programs. Additionally, patients in the group will be trained to provide information and encouragement to current heart patients as they recover in hospitals and in the community. The cost to join the support group is $17 for a year, which includes national newsletters and health materials.
