More Doctors, Services at Community Memorial Medical Commons

Menomonee Falls, WI (April 30, 2008) — Beginning in May, Community Memorial Medical Commons at North Hills will be offering more services to the community — the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Senior Health Program, Community Memorial Hospital’s cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs and Froedtert & Community Health’s Workforce Health program.

Senior Health Program
Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Senior Health Program will open to patients on May 5. This comprehensive program involves both general medical care and geriatric specialty care.

Paul Hankwitz, MD, will provide general medical care and out-patient consultation for older adults with complex health issues that can be difficult to diagnose or treat.

Geriatric specialty care will include a new cognitive and behavioral program that combines the expertise of geriatricians, geriatric psychiatrists, advance practice nurses and a social worker. This program will provide traditional consultation and co-management and will offer a medical home for patients interested in continuity of care. Physicians seeing patients in this interdisciplinary program include geriatricians Diana Kerwin, MD and Mary Cohan, MD, and geriatric psychiatrists Harold Harsch, MD, David Bresnahan, MD and Joseph Goveas, MD. For more information about Senior Health, call 262-253-2450.

Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Community Memorial Hospital’s cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs will be moving from the hospital to Community Memorial Medical Commons and opening on May 12. Both programs are certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) for meeting essential requirements for standards of care. The cardiac program is designed to help cardiac patients through a combination of monitored exercise and diet/lifestyle education. The pulmonary program helps patients who have chronic pulmonary problems learn how to maximize their lung potential. The new number for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation will be 262-253-5220.

Workforce Health
Froedtert & Community Health’s Workforce Health Program will move from its location on Main Street in Menomonee Falls to the Medical Commons. The program’s staff work with companies and their employees to minimize health risks, manage chronic medical conditions and prevent health problems. The new number for Workforce Health will be 262-253-5150.

"We are excited to add even more services to Community Memorial Medical Commons, which already provides a broad range of high-quality primary care through the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Primary Care Clinic," said William Bestor, President and CEO of Community Memorial Hospital.

Community Memorial Hospital, which specializes in cardiac care, women’s health, cancer care and advanced surgical procedures, is a member of Froedtert & Community Health.
