Volunteer Associates Elect Donovan Co-President
Milwaukee, WI (Aug. 25, 2008) — Connie Donovan, a Froedtert Hospital volunteer and a Brown Deer resident, was recently elected Co-President of the Froedtert Hospital Volunteer Associates.
Connie has volunteered in the hospital’s Family Center since October 2004, following a long career in human resources in the Milwaukee area. She will serve in a co-presidency capacity until May 2009, when the term of current President Mark Schaefer expires.
Some of Connie’s major responsibilities as Co-President of the Volunteer Associates include leading all fundraising activities and monitoring financial planning and spending. The Froedtert Hospital Volunteer Associates recently donated their 2007 earnings of $127,844 to benefit Froedtert Hospital programs.
The money was raised through sales at the hospital gift shop and other volunteer fundraising events. All proceeds go back to the hospital to benefit programs including nursing, medical research, and hospitality. Froedtert volunteers have donated more than $1,750,000 over the last 28 years. Many of the current 264 volunteers are former patients or family members of former patients.
