Volunteers Donate 2007 Earnings
Milwaukee, WI (Aug. 12, 2008) — The Froedtert Hospital Volunteer Associates donated their 2007 earnings of $127,844 to benefit Froedtert Hospital programs.
The money was raised through sales at hospital gift shop and other volunteer fundraising events. All proceeds go back to the hospital to benefit programs including nursing, medical research, and hospitality. Froedtert volunteers have donated more than $1,750,000 over the last 28 years. Many of the volunteers are former patients or family members of former patients. Of the 264 total volunteers, 74 are from Wauwatosa.
Connie Donovan, a current Froedtert volunteer and a Brown Deer resident, was recently elected as the new co-president of the Froedtert Hospital Volunteer Associates.
The current president, Mark Schaefer, will work with Connie in a co-presidency until May of 2009. Mark has served 14 years as a volunteer and has donated more than 10,000 hours in the last six years as president of the Froedtert Hospital Volunteer Associates.
