Milwaukee, WI (June 24, 2009) – Dermatologic surgeon Marcy Neuburg, M.D., has been awarded the Thomas L. Smallwood Award for Patient Care Excellence by the Board of Directors of Froedtert Hospital.
Dr. Neuburg, a Mequon resident, is a national leader in Dermatologic Surgery and plays a key role in the development of the Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin skin cancer program. She has also been listed as one of the “Best Doctors in America” since 1996, and she served as chief of staff at Froedtert Hospital from 1999-2002.
“Marcy Neuburg epitomizes the spirit and intent of the Thomas L. Smallwood Award,” said William Petasnick, president and chief executive officer at Froedtert Hospital. “She has delivered world-class clinical care to our patients and consistently serves as a role model to countless other clinicians.”
The Thomas L. Smallwood Award was established in 2003 to honor outstanding contributions to the care of patients at Froedtert Hospital. Award criteria focus on four key areas: clinical skills, scientific inquiry, clinical program development and superior patient outcomes.
The award is named for Thomas L. Smallwood, former chairman of the Froedtert Hospital Board of Directors and a passionate advocate for Froedtert Hospital and its patients.
