Froedtert Hospital Ranks in 2010 America's Best Hospitals List
Milwaukee, Wis. (July 15, 2010) — Froedtert Hospital ranks among the nation’s top 50 hospitals in the 2010-11 edition of US News & World Report’s “America’s Best Hospitals” guide released July 15. Froedtert’s expertise in gastroenterology earned inclusion in the report, widely considered the nation’s most authoritative hospital guide.
Only one other adult hospital in Wisconsin made the list this year. Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is on the pediatric hospital ranking.
Of the nearly 5,000 U.S. hospitals analyzed, only 152 scored high enough to be ranked in any of the 16 specialties examined by US News.
The America’s Best Hospitals rankings weigh a set of care-related factors such as nursing and patient services, reputation and mortality rates; other criteria include academic medical center or teaching hospital status, availability of advanced technology, and the volume of procedures performed in specific specialties. The list appeared online today at usnews.com.
