Froedtert Nurse Recognized Nationally as CNS Preceptor of the Year
Milwaukee, WI (Feb. 24, 2011) – Sharron Coffie, MSN, RN, CNS-BC, has received high honor for her work as a clinical nurse specialist. She was selected by the board of directors of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists to receive the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Preceptor of the Year award. Coffie is an inpatient cardiac nurse at Froedtert Hospital.
The CNS Preceptor of the Year Award nationally recognizes an NACNS member for outstanding professional achievement. The award acknowledges a CNS preceptor who has demonstrated commitment to teach, coach and mentor CNS students to achieve competencies in the nurse, patient and organizational spheres according to NACNS guidelines.
“Sharron is an amazing preceptor and mentor. She is committed to paving the way for students and new CNS professionals. She is inspiring and is always coming up with a way that can make health care better,” said Cristin Phillips, a BSN, RN, CNS graduate student. “Sharron truly enjoys taking the time to bring up the next generation of CNS professionals and is dedicated to representing the nursing profession with compassion and grace.”
The award will be presented to Coffie on March 11 at the NACNS annual awards luncheon in Baltimore, Md.
Froedtert Hospital is a 500-bed academic medical center staffed by faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin.
