Sports Medicine Center and Milwaukee Kickers Offer Soccer Camp
Milwaukee, WI (Feb. 24, 2011) – Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin, in collaboration with the Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club, is hosting a soccer camp for players ages 10-17. The camp will be instructed by former Milwaukee Wave player Michael King and focus on advanced soccer techniques. It will also feature speed and agility enhancement drills led by athletic trainers from Froedtert & The Medical College Sports Medicine Center.
There are three separate camp sessions. All will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee. Camp 1 runs March 28-April 1, Camp 2 runs April 18-21 and Camp 3 runs April 25-29. The cost for Camp 1 and Camp 3 is $75 each, and Camp 2, which is four days rather than five, costs $60. Players who register before March 21 will receive $5 off registration costs. Participants will receive a camp T-shirt, cinch sack, nutritional information and take-home exercises to improve performance and reduce the risk of injury. Camp instructor Michael King is the all-time leading scorer of the Milwaukee Wave. He played professional soccer for 23 years and was the captain of four championship teams.
