Three Executives Join Froedtert Hospital
Milwaukee, Wis. (Oct. 15, 2013) — Froedtert Hospital, a member of the Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin health care network, has named Susan Huerta as vice president for quality, patient safety and performance improvement. Froedtert Hospital has also named Allan Gray as vice president of perioperative services and Jon Hardesty as executive director of human resources.
Susan Huerta is responsible for leading quality improvement initiatives to advance effectiveness and efficiency across the hospital for patients and for staff. She will work closely with Lee Biblo, MD, Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin chief medical officer and John Weigelt, MD, chief of surgery, trauma and critical care.
Huerta has a depth of experience in nursing and health care quality, informatics, and data analytics. She most recently served as chief quality and process improvement officer at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She also served as associate vice president of patient safety and clinical effectiveness at Rush University Medical Center. She started her career as a nurse in the trauma unit at Cook County Hospital, Chicago. Huerta received a doctor of philosophy degree in nursing from Loyola University and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing Northern Illinois University.
As vice president for perioperative services, Allan Gray provides executive oversight for inpatient and ambulatory surgical services including pre-admission testing, anesthesiology and post-operative care. He has served as both a hospital executive and consultant in surgical services administration, with positions at academic medical centers, including the University of Chicago, and the University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Gray received a doctor of philosophy in English literature from Northwestern University, holds a master’s in business administration from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration, and holds a bachelor of arts in English from Wesleyan University.
As executive director of human resources, Hardesty is responsible for overall strategy and operations for human resources at Froedtert Hospital and joins the system’s leadership team to develop human resources’ strategic direction for Froedtert Health.
Hardesty has more than 15 years of health care human resource experience, serving most recently as chief human resources officer for the Cleveland Clinic and as previously as director of human resources operations and workforce planning for Sharp HealthCare, San Diego. He received a Juris Doctorate from Western Sierra School of Law, and a bachelor’s of arts degree in political science from Humboldt State University. He is a credentialed mediator.
