St. Joseph’s Hospital Honors Tracey Ebert With Annual Nursing Award
West Bend, Wis. – Tracey Ebert, RN, service coordinator in the hospital surgery department, has been honored with the Excellence in Nursing Award from St. Joseph’s Hospital. Registered nurses at St. Joseph’s nominate bedside nurses for this annual award, based on excellence in their area of practice, quality care to patients and families, teamwork and leadership skills.
As service coordinator in surgery, Ebert oversees general, plastic and gynecological surgery needs. In her 11 years with St. Joseph’s, Ebert has served as a staff nurse, charge nurse and formal preceptor. She is also a member of the American Operating Room Nurses Association and recently received her CNOR certification, the documented validation of the professional achievement of identified standards of practice by an individual registered nurse providing care for patients before, during and after surgery.
"Tracey is not only a strong leader throughout the hospital as well as the community, but also a source for calm reassurance in an otherwise hectic environment," said nominator Tracey Weninger, RN. "Her compassion for her coworkers combined with her constant desire to improve patient care is inspirational. She took it upon herself to develop a new standard of practice to reduce surgical site infection rate, reducing infections to 0 percent. St. Joseph’s is fortunate to have such a compassionate, caring, driven individual."
"It’s very humbling just to be nominated for the award," said Ebert. "To be selected is beyond words. I’m very proud to be a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital. All of our nurses give excellent care every day."
Ebert received her bachelor’s of science in nursing from Marian University. She resides in Campbellsport.
