Medication Disposal and Drug Repository

Proper disposal of unnecessary prescription medications helps keep the groundwater clean. Bring your expired and unwanted medications to any Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Pharmacy and we will safely dispose of them for you.

We can accept prescription and over-the-counter medications. We cannot accept controlled substances, biohazardous materials or household hazardous waste. Medications can only be accepted in their original packaging or prescription bottle.

Drug Repository

Patients with unused medications that meet certain requirements may also choose to donate these medications to our Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin pharmacies.

Medications can be dropped off at any of our Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsisn campus pharmacies. Our team at the Specialty Clinics Outpatient Pharmacy then works to dispense these products to individuals who have no insurance or are under-insured.

Patients who have a valid prescription from an authorized provider, have cancer or another chronic condition and have no insurance are under insured may be eligible to receive medications from the repository. For more information on the drug repository program call 414-805-6570.
