Arrhythmia Program

Locations

As part of the Heart and Vascular Center, the Arrhythmia Program and its physicians are based at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Several clinics are part of the Arrhythmia Program:

Arrhythmia Clinic
This is where physicians provide evaluation and treatment for patients with heart rhythm problems. Physicians here see patients with diagnosed arrhythmias and discuss treatment options. Patients who are candidates for implantable defibrillators, pacemakers and cardiac resynchronization devices (to treat heart failure) are also seen in the clinic.

Atrial Fibrillation Clinic
The Atrial Fibrillation Clinic specializes in management of A-fib. A team of physicians, both surgeons and electrophysiologists, evaluate patients and develop a treatment strategy. Medical management, cardioversion, catheter ablation, minimally invasive surgery and normal surgical options are offered in this collaborative environment. Learn more about treating arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation.

Sudden Death Prevention Clinic
Here physicians and staff specialize in evaluating the risk of sudden cardiac death. Any patient with high-risk conditions such as cardiomyopathy, prior heart attack, family histories, or known genetic disorders (such as Long-QT or Brugada) can be evaluated. A comprehensive approach including non-invasive risk predictors such as signal-averaged ECG, heart rate variability, cardiac MRI, and genetic testing can be utilized. High risk patients can be evaluated for implantable defibrillators. Learn more about diagnosing arrhythmias.

General Electrophysiology Clinic
For patient convenience, electrophysiologists see patients at several locations in addition to Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin. Available services include arrhythmia diagnosis and management, device evaluation and follow-up, and treatment for conditions like syncope.
