Otolaryngology is the medical specialty that covers the care of the ear, nose and throat – often referred to as “ENT.” Otolaryngology is a wide-ranging medical specialty that encompasses everything from ear tubes and sleep apnea to swallowing disorders, throat cancers and cochlear implants. And, since our ears, nose, sinuses and throat play such pivotal roles in communication, otolaryngology plays an enormous role in maintaining patient’s quality of life.

Froedtert Hospital is regionally recognized for eight medical specialties, including ear, nose and throat care.

Our team of otolaryngologists (ear, nose and throat doctors) includes many fellowship-trained specialists who are familiar with every aspect of the ears, nose, sinuses and throat. We handle routine concerns like tonsillitis, snoring and sinusitis, as well as unique and tough-to-treat concerns such as throat cancers or skull base tumors.

The Ear, Nose and Throat Program (Otolaryngology) at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee has more fellowship-trained ear, nose and throat doctors than any other otolaryngology group in the state. In fact, many of our physicians have completed subspecialty fellowship training and participate in medical research. Advanced Diagnosis and Treatment Options

Thanks to our broad range of specialized expertise and advanced technology, our Ear, Nose and Throat Program offers all of the latest diagnostic and treatment options. We offer highly specialized cochlear implants to restore hearing. Our surgeons regularly perform laser surgeries for treating Zenker’s diverticulum, a condition of the esophagus that causes swallowing difficulties. Very few surgeons are proficient in the use of transoral robotic surgery (TORS) for treating head and neck cancer, and our specialists routinely use this procedure whenever possible to treat head and neck cancers, often allowing people to avoid laryngectomy other more invasive procedures. Our physicians are the only ones in the area – and one of only two physician groups in the state – to offer in-office KTP laser treatment for vocal problems.
