Ear, Nose and Throat Program (Otolaryngology)

Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Many of our board-certified otolaryngologists are facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons These specialists have completed additional training in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head and neck. Our facial plastic surgeons perform both cosmetic surgery and reconstructive procedures following traumatic injuries or when dealing with severe illness such as cancer..

Some of the most common facial plastic and reconstructive procedures include:

  • Rhinoplasty, or plastic surgery of the nose, to repair structural damage or improve the nose’s appearance
  • Facial trauma treatment and reconstructive surgery of the face, head and neck
  • Skin cancer reconstruction surgery after Mohs treatment
  • Removal (excision) of skin lesions, both benign and malignant
  • Correction of facial paralysis, or facial reanimation, using procedures such as nerve grafting and muscle transfer to restore movement and function
  • Microvascular free tissue transfer, where surgeons use a microscope to help them re-attach tiny blood vessels and nerves of tissue taken from one part of the body to repair another part
  • Scar treatment
  • Ear reshaping (otoplasty)
  • Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
