Eye Institute

Our Nationally Recognized Research Program

Much of our energy at the Eye Institute comes from our dedication to research. We take part in major national trials for new drugs, surgeries and treatments, and we also support original research in many important areas. The result is better patient care. The people we serve always receive the most advanced vision care available, and through clinical trials they often have "early access" to next generation treatments. As part of our commitment to investigation, we have initiated a renovation and building project that will nearly double the amount of Eye Institute space dedicated to research.

In recognition of our commitment, the Eye Institute receives major funding from some of the most prestigious support organizations in ophthalmology, including Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) and the National Eye Institute (NEI). In fact, the Froedtert & the Medical College Eye Institute is one of a limited number of institutions nationwide that receive a "Core Grant for Vision Research" from the NEI.
