Clinical Trials and Research

Research is important to patient care as discoveries lead to new treatments, prevention care and cures for stroke (vascular disease of the brain), high blood pressure, heart attack, congestive heart failure and other diseases of the heart and blood vessels.

Patients of the Heart and Vascular Center have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials of new treatment techniques, medications and devices.

Physicians in the Heart and Vascular Center, including Interventional Radiologists, are participating in significant local and national clinical research trials. The Heart and Vascular Center offers clinical trials in such areas as:

Structural heart disease
Coronary artery disease
Carotid artery disease
Cardiovascular imaging
Valvular heart disease
Heart failure
Electrophysiology
Angiogenesis (development of new heart tissue)
Adult congenital heart disease
