We see patients with all kinds of heart disease or problems – from heart failure to mitral valve prolapse. The Cardiac Second Opinion Program has dedicated and highly trained Medical College of Wisconsin cardiac experts who specialize in all types of heart disease. They are involved in the latest research and utilizing state-of-the-science diagnostic and treatment technology.
The Froedtert & the Medical College Cardiac Second Opinion Program is an opportunity for you to explore more options regarding your heart condition. The Program includes:
- A nurse coordinator who will work with you to coordinate your appointments with the right heart specialist, help you acquire all the available information from your current medical provider (includes tests, treatments, etc.) and work with you on your follow up care plan.
- Ability to see one of our highly regarded Medical College of Wisconsin cardiologists or cardiac surgeons. Our physicians will work with you as to not repeat tests or treatments unless absolutely necessary. Quick scheduling with a first appointment available within 72 hours of contacting us (within weekday business hours).
- A customized care plan within 2-3 visits, depending on the preliminary visit, with a letter to you and your physician describing our findings and suggested next steps. It’s what we call “the Froedtert & the Medical College Way.”
You should not feel intimidated to request a second opinion from your current physician. In fact, most physicians encourage their patients to explore options when faced with a major health issue.
