Research and Ultrasound

Detailed Ultrasound

The Maternal Fetal Care Center is accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine for Obstetrical Ultrasound. The Center provides care to women requiring advanced and detailed ultrasound examination, particularly women experiencing a high-risk pregnancy.

Perinatal ultrasound combines state-of-the-art technology with dedicated sonographers and perinatologists who focus on the mother, baby, amniotic fluid, placenta and uterus. A wide range of ultrasound services is provided, including first trimester scans, detailed fetal anatomy scans, fetal growth scans, second opinion scans for known/suspected fetal abnormalities, bio-physical profiles and ultrasound guidance for prenatal diagnostic procedures (amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling).

Research Studies

Our physicians and genetic counselors have access to ongoing local and national research studies. When clinical testing is not available for certain disorders or diseases, there may be a research study for the disorder/disease at another facility. Participation may involve providing blood or tissue samples to the study researchers.
