Walk-In Clinics and FastCare
Choosing the Right Place for CareYou just twisted your ankle. Your child has a sore throat. Your spouse is developing flu symptoms.
Many urgent health concerns can develop quickly. While you don’t need the care of an emergency room, you do need attention today. Believe it or not, your first call should be to your primary care physician.
All of our primary care locations offer same-day appointments, so you may be able to see your own doctor that same day. But if your doctor isn’t available, or you don’t yet have a primary care doctor, we offer two convenient options for same-day medical care:
For your convenience, all three of these clinics have extended hours including evening, weekend and some holiday hours.
Our Walk-In and FastCare Clinics use the same Epic electronic medical record that is used throughout our system. That means the providers you see at the Walk-In Clinic or FastCare will have access to your complete medical record, so you can receive the most appropriate and comprehensive care quickly. Your primary physician (if he or she is a Medical College of Wisconsin physician) and all of our subspecialists will also have access to your Walk-In and FastCare records after your visit to help continue your care.
Walk-In ClinicsOur walk-in clinics provide care for all types of minor injuries and illnesses without an appointment. They are designed to treat the same types of acute health concerns that would otherwise be seen in a primary care office. Medical College of Wisconsin physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners see patients with urgent medical needs that don’t require emergency care. Full laboratory services and radiology are available at both of our walk-in clinic locations.

FastCareFastCare, located inside the Shopko store at Hwy. 164 and Silver Spring Drive in Sussex, is a convenient and economical extension of the care you receive from your primary care physician. FastCare is staffed by experienced Medical College of Wisconsin physician assistants or nurse practitioners who can quickly treat minor health problems such as allergies, minor burns, muscle aches, sprains, upper respiratory infections, flu symptoms, stings, bug bites and more.
A FastCare visit costs only $49, and FastCare will bill your insurance, if you wish. FastCare provides care for adults as well as children at least 18 months old. Lab tests with immediate results are available for certain conditions. No appointment is needed.
If you don’t have a primary care physician and need follow-up care, our staff will help you find a primary care physician at a Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin primary care clinic. The primary care physician will have instant electronic access to your FastCare medical record.
Emergency CarePeople with life-threatening illnesses and injuries require immediate medical care at an emergency department or trauma center. These types of illnesses or injuries include chest pain, significant shortness of breath, new onset weakness or numbness, fractures, dehydration, bleeding, severe pain and trauma. The emergency departments at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin and Community Memorial Hospital are ready 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to meet all types of emergency needs.
