Spine-related problems can be complex, with many treatment options. That’s why the diagnosis of a spine-related problem deserves a second opinion.
If you’ve been diagnosed with a spine condition, especially one for which surgery has been recommended, you may benefit greatly from a visit to the Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin SpineCare Second Opinion Program.
Many physicians recommend that their patients seek a second opinion at Froedtert & The Medical College. A second opinion from our expert team of SpineCare physicians can give you peace of mind to make the right decision. As part of an academic medical center, the SpineCare Program has the resources, technology, expertise and compassion to accurately evaluate your diagnosis and effectively treat your disorder.
Team members offer a coordinated, comprehensive approach to evaluating spine problems. They review the details of each patient’s circumstances, make sure that all treatment options have been explored, and verify that recommendations made up to that point are appropriate.
A second opinion can allow you to:
- Consult with leading SpineCare experts
- Confirm the diagnosis you’ve received or obtain a different diagnosis
- Learn about all the treatments available to you
- Make informed decisions based on what’s best for you
A second opinion will introduce you to our team of SpineCare experts, including fellowship-trained physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians (physiatrists) and neurosurgeons, along with chiropractors, nurses and physical and occupational therapists. Our spine specialists understand the importance of creating treatment plans that fit your quality of life, goals and future plans.
The SpineCare Program attempts non-invasive treatment before recommending surgery, except under certain circumstances where surgery is indicated. Only 3.4 percent of our SpineCare patients underwent surgery in 2006. Learn more about our quality outcomes.
