Partnerships and Associations
The Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Trauma Center is a member of regional and state and organizations dedicated to coordinating trauma care and preventing injuries.
Partnership with Wisconsin Air National GuardIn 2007, the Trauma Center at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin formed a partnership with the Wisconsin Air National Guard to train and prepare members of the 128th Air Refueling Wing. This groundbreaking civilian-military partnership marked just the second of its kind in the United States involving a hospital providing training programs to military troops.
Guardsmen with medical backgrounds have the option of taking part in monthly training at Froedtert Hospital. The training includes scrubbing in for surgeries and being paired with Froedtert & The Medical College staff to participate in patient care to hone their skills for battlefield medical care. The partnership allowed our nation’s troops to gain more in-depth experience treating traumatic injuries and other battlefield injuries.
South East Regional Trauma Advisory Council
The South East Regional Trauma Advisory Council (SERTAC) operates under the direction of the Wisconsin State Trauma Advisory Council. SERTAC serves eight counties in southeastern Wisconsin. The purpose of SERTAC is to design, implement and evaluate a trauma system in our region. Trauma Center physicians and nurses serve on the SERTAC Executive Committee, Medical Oversight Committee, Education Committee and the Performance Improvement Committee.
Trauma Advisory CommitteeMedical College of Wisconsin faculty members also serve on the state Trauma Advisory Committee, state EMS Physician Advisory Committee for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and serve as the current State Trauma System Medical Director.
