Women's Sports Medicine Program

Exceptional Staff

As an interdisciplinary, comprehensive program, our goal is to keep professional, high school and collegiate, and recreational athletes healthy. This holistic approach requires a unique team of healthcare professionals experienced in a wide range of specialties. Under the direction of Medical College of Wisconsin physician Anne Z. Hoch, DO and orthopaedic surgeon Carole S. Vetter, MD, members of our team include: 

  • Physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians
  • Orthopaedic surgeons
  • Cardiologists
  • Dietitian

    • All athletes benefit from the nutrition assessments and counseling provided by our dietitian. Evaluations help athletes develop healthy eating habits to achieve optimal athletic performance. Advice is tailored to each athlete’s needs and addresses a variety of topics including body composition, muscle and weight gain, hydration, and nutrition planning for endurance training and events. The Sports Medicine Program staff dietitian is Kate Pollock, RD, CD, Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Sports Medicine Dietitian

  • Sports psychologists


Areas of focus for this multidisciplinary team include:

  • Muscle, tendon, and ligament injuries
  • Stress fractures, fractures and dislocations
  • Overuse injuries
  • Injuries to the shoulder, knee, hip, elbow, ankle, back and neck
  • Exercise-related medical problems (i.e. asthma and anemia)
  • Exercise-related menstrual irregularities
  • Disordered eating and dietary deficiencies
  • Pregnant athlete
  • Minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery
