Consultation and DiagnosisPatients start with a thorough evaluation with one of our board-certified surgeons. Tests including X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, nerve studies and ultrasounds may be ordered to aid in making a definitive diagnosis. An electromyogram (EMG) also may be ordered to analyze the health of the muscles and the nerves that control the muscles both at rest and during muscle contraction.
Comprehensive, Collaborative TreatmentArmed with a clear diagnosis, physicians, therapists and patients work together to map a course of treatment that will provide optimal outcomes. Patients and their families find it reassuring to know that caregivers are collaborating to make sure all aspects of care are covered. To provide the best results, treatment plans are constantly adjusted as patients gain strength and function.
Progressive, Sophisticated CareWhenever appropriate, we start with the least invasive treatment methods such as splinting and therapy – all provided based on the latest proven methods and technology. As necessary, our experts may suggest medications, injections, minimally invasive procedures and surgery for patients with greater needs.
Treatment options may include:
- Therapy, including splinting, range of motion and strengthening, patient and family education, return to work and activities with a goal of regaining function, endurance and strength
- Non-surgical treatments, including medications and injections, such as XIAFLEX®
- Surgery, including trauma, microscopic, plastic, orthopaedic, minimally invasive surgery and joint replacement surgery of the shoulder, elbow or knuckles
