Over the last few years, we've worked diligently to develop a framework that will help our hospital be recognized as a leader in delivering culturally competent, sensitive and effective healthcare services to our diverse patient population.
Our ongoing diversity plan enables Froedtert Hospital to be a healthcare provider that:
- Ensures patients receive effective, understandable and respectful care provided by all staff members in a manner compatible with patients' cultural health beliefs and practices, and preferred language
- Implements strategies to recruit, retain and promote at all levels of the organization, a diverse staff and leadership representative of the demographic characteristics of the community we serve
- Ensures our staff members, at all levels and across all disciplines, receive ongoing education and training in culturally, and linguistically appropriate service delivery
We accomplish these critical diversity goals by the efforts of a dedicated workgroup that plans displays, events, articles, awareness and skills training on an on-going basis for all staff.
Community Partnerships In addition to internal efforts toward cultural competence and workforce diversity, Froedtert engages in external activities to respond to community needs and increase the diverse pool of talent. We achieve quality partnerships through our Supplier Diversity and Community Benefit Program efforts.
