Outpatient Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program
Community Recovery Center
Chemical dependency affects people from all walks of life. It is a progressive disease
that shortens a person’s life expectancy. When alcohol or other drugs affect your
daily life, your career or your relationships, it’s time to seek help.
Our chemical dependency program is an intensive outpatient program offered at
Community Memorial Hospital.
Whether its alcohol, drugs or other mood-altering
substances, we provide a treatment program to help you recover from addiction.
The program is strictly confidential, and we treat all of our patients with dignity
and respect. We help our patients find new ways to cope with life’s challenges
without the use of mood-altering chemicals. After treatment, we help you find the
long-term support needed to be successful in your recovery.
The Community Recovery Center treatment program begins with an individual
assessment with a licensed substance abuse professional, followed by an intensive
four-week program consisting of outpatient group therapy and educational
sessions. The treatment program is followed by our eight week After-Care Program
to provide vital support while you begin to restore your life.
We focus on helping you find new ways to cope with life’s challenges by following
a recovery model which includes:
- Developing a plan to end/curb negative behaviors
- Setting realistic goals
- Practicing new skills and behaviors
Long-Term Support for Recovery
Long-term support is essential to recovery, and we help our patients find appropriate
support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Al-Anon
Family Group, Women for Sobriety and others. Support from family, friends and a
spiritual community are also important parts of long-term recovery. Several support groups meet at our facilities, and there are more than 200 free, weekly meetings in
the Milwaukee and surrounding area.
For some, individual counseling is also key to long-term recovery. We assist in
finding a therapist who has experience in substance use issues as well as behavioral
health. Working with a therapist who understands addiction can help address the
emotional, mental, relationship or other issues you may face. For more information
