Community Memorial Hospital Celebrating 50 Years of Caring

On July 1, 2014, Community Memorial Hospital celebrates an important milestone…50 Years of Caring!

The original hospital, which opened in 1964, offered 61 beds, a team of 16 specialty physicians and a total staff of 70. Today, we offer 202 beds, a medical staff of over 600 and more than 1,300 total staff. Times have changed!

In an editorial from July 18, 1964, in the Menomonee Falls News, the editors made it clear just how significant the opening of Community Memorial Hospital was to the community.

CMH Main Entrance

The original entrance in 1964 welcomed community members to their hospital.

“With the dedication Saturday of Community Memorial Hospital, a dream comes true for many residents of this area … a goal is achieved; and, it is all made possible because neighbors, businessmen, community leaders – yes, even strangers – were willing to lend their efforts, their skills to make the dream into reality.”

As we look back at the past 50 years, we invite you to join the celebration, learn more about our history and share your story of what Community Memorial Hospital means to you, your family and your community.
