Today’s high-tech hearing aids are discrete and very effective, with many options to fit your lifestyle. Designed to help you hear louder and clearer, hearing aids help alleviate the effects of hearing loss and can also help manage tinnitus, or noises in the ears or head.

Our licensed and doctorate-level audiologists offer hearing aid evaluations at several convenient locations. They will work with you to find the best hearing aid for you based on your needs, lifestyle and budget.

Getting Started with Hearing Aids

If hearing loss, tinnitus or another problem is leading you to consider hearing aids, talk to your primary care physician about a referral for an audiogram or hearing test. If the test finds that you may benefit from amplification, a hearing aid evaluation is the next step.

Choosing the Best Hearing Aid

During a hearing aid evaluation, our audiologists ask about your hearing experiences and particular situations or environments that you find challenging. We also want to understand the impact of your hearing loss on your lifestyle and relationships with family, friends and co-workers. Cosmetic preferences, functionality, costs, hearing aid styles and features are also discussed.

The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Koss Hearing and Balance Center offers options from many hearing aid manufacturers. We help you navigate insurance coverage to make the most of your benefits, and bill directly when possible.

Hearing Aid Fitting and Use

Once the best hearing aid is selected for you, it is ordered and you are scheduled for your fitting appointment. During the fitting appointment, you receive your devices and we verify their fit using state-of-the art equipment to make sure your hearing aids provide the best sound and benefit possible. You also learn how to use, care for and maintain your new hearing aids.

All hearing aids come with a 30-day, money-back trial period, during which we closely monitor your progress. After that, we see you annually for a fitting check, evaluation, cleaning and service. All of our hearing aids include a comprehensive warranty package that covers all fitting and follow-up appointments, as well as repairs or other services by the manufacturer. Staff are available for questions or concerns at any time.
