Eye Trauma and Emergency Care
As part of our commitment to preserving eyesight, Eye Institute physicians provide emergency services at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin for patients with eye trauma and other vision threatening emergencies. Several physicians are always on call for the hospital to care for emergent eye problems. In addition, physicians representing subspecialties are also available for timely consultation. An Eye Institute oculoplastic surgery specialist, for example, is always standing by for patients with severe eye lid or tear duct injuries.
The Eye Institute also provides fast answers for people who call in with urgent vision concerns. Our main line is staffed by nurses who can answer questions about your eyes and let you know what to do in urgent situations. Call 414-456-2020 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After hours and on weekends, patients should call the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Emergency Department at 414-805-6717.
